We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand-new volunteering initiative across Medical Hire and Independence Mobility, created to support charities and community organisations that are making a real difference.
The initiative gives every member of staff the opportunity to take part in a fully paid volunteering day each year, offering their time and skills to a worthy cause.
We kicked things off with a visit to Leeds South and East Food Bank. This vital charity plays a crucial role in providing emergency food parcels and support to individuals and families facing hardship, and it was a privilege to contribute to their work.
In the weeks leading up to our volunteering day, we held a company-wide food collection, and our generous colleagues donated a fantastic range of essential food items to bring along.
Once on site, the team wasted no time getting stuck in, unpacking, sorting, and organising food trays in the warehouse. By the end of the day, we had processed an incredible 2,280kg of stock. That’s the equivalent of 5,430 meals for local people experiencing a crisis.
The team had an incredibly rewarding day and left inspired to make an even bigger difference!
Next up, we’ll be volunteering for the incredible St Gemma’s Hospice in one of their retail stores. We’re already gathering clothes, books, and household items to donate, and we can’t wait to get involved.
