Since filming resumed after the first national lockdown, there’s been no shortage of drama on the cobbles of Coronation Street, especially where character Adam Barlow is concerned.

At the end of 2020, after a series of run-ins with many of his neighbours, Adam was left fighting for his life. He was sitting alone in the Bistro late one night when someone snuck in and brutally attacked him. Luckily, he was soon found by Bistro owners Ray and Debbie, but he had sustained a serious head injury and was rushed to hospital into ICU.

Medical Hire were on hand once again to support the team at Coronation Street to help build the ICU set. A vital signs monitor, a ventilator, a transducer kit, and a volumetric pump with syringe drivers, were key items of equipment that were supplied for the ICU setup.

In addition, a wide range of medical accessories and consumables were provided including leads and cabling for all medical machines; fluid bags and CVC lines for the drips; plus, oxygen masks, cannulas, and syringes in a range of sizes. A personalised hospital ID wrist band also added a final touch.

Thankfully, Adam made a full recovery after the terrible attack, but it took some time before his attacker was revealed!
